How cold is too cold to swim without a wetsuit?
I plan to go snorkeling on Catalina Island this week and next the water is about 64 degrees right now. The coldest I've swum without trial for long periods of time (2 hours) is 70 degrees, which is not cold glacial. Is 64 too cold to swim without a wetsuit?
Catiline is directly opposite the beach in Huntington. I was out surfing at Huntington today with almost Swimsuits and the water was 63-67 and was very pleasant. It's a bit difficult during the first 5 minutes, but once you move around your fine id say the cold water you can go with a wet suit is 57-60 degrees fun!
